As a young, aspiring singer Javier Solis was a great admirer & imitator of Pedro Infante. After Infante's untimely death in 1957, the market searched for another idol to replace him, this would eventually be Javier Solis but it took him several years to find his own style and become the undispituted King of Mariachi Boleros. In that time, his producers at CBS tried to create a completely different Crooner sound in his 1962 album "Javier Solis en New York".
It failed commercially, but it was filed away for the Solis cult to find decades later.
Besame Mucho, the world reknown bolero composed by Consuelo Velasquez, needs no introduction or translation.
My favorite version, is actually the original by Emilio Tuero in 1940.. but this is also a favorite (besides I am having trouble finding the Tuero version since my cassette broke).

me enteré que en cierta ocasión Frank Sinatra le refería a una persona muy versada en musica que el era el mejor cantante del planeta y esta persona le puso un disco de Javier Solís y Frank luego de escuchar la voz de Javier reconoció que realmente éste cantaba mejor que él

disculpen lo tardio de este comentario pero la curestion de pedro y javier es que uno (javier solis) se gano el nombre de el "el rey del en bolero ranchero" y esta hasta la fecha considerado así. mientras que a (pedro infante) se gano el titulo de el rey de la cantina y el unico "inortal pedro infante" quien su publico hasta estos dias lo conoce asi.

con todo el respeto que se merecen todos, no hay que hacer una comparación de quien la canta mejor , por que Pedro , javier y Jorge son los mas importantes intérpretes de la musica ranchera no hay mas ni siquiera vicente que ha vivido mas años que lo que ellos vivieron los ha podido superar , de los tres el mas grande es Pedro , las tres voces son increíbles cada quien con su estilo

este tema es lo que representa la mejor voz andrea bocceli se queda muy por debajo teniendo en cuenta q es un cantante q estudio y javier solis no lo hizo mas sin embargo es la mejor interpretacion de esta cancion mis respetos javier solis q dios t tenga en su gloria
