Agricoltura, Book Review:Women Who Run With The Wolves
agricoltura | info | prezzo | dati | produzione
"A healthy woman is much like a wolf: robust, chock-full, strong life force, life-giving, territorially aware, inventive, loyal, roving. Yet separation from the wildish nature causes a woman's personality to become meager, thin, ghosty, spectral. We are not meant to be puny with frail hair and inability to leap up, inability to give chase, to birth, to create a life. When women's lives are in stasis, ennui, it is always time for the wildish woman to emerge; it is time for the creating function of the psyche to flood the delta...It means to establish territory, to find one's pack, to be in one's body with certainty and pride regardless of the body's gifts and limitations, to speak and act in one's behalf, to be aware, alert, to draw on the innate feminine powers of intuition and sensing, to come into one's cycles, to find what one belongs to, to rise with dignity, to retain as much consciousness as we can."
by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
This book has helped me on my path to realise that I am a powerful and passionate creation because I am a woman. I recommend this book to EVERY woman who wishes to research the beauty and importance of her true wild nature.

I read this book when it originally came out. I co-led WILD WOMEN WORKSHOPS since 1989 into the 90's. Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a wonderful FaceBook group and writes regularly there.

I loved your review, you said it just perfect!...It makes me happy to see more women like you who are in touch with their wild woman nature and with harmony with our sisters, it's the way it should be!!

Lovely review! I've been reading this book for a couple of weeks, slowly, with pencil, a chapter a day before sleep. Had great dreams along the way! Now thinking how I can incorporate those fairy tales into art therapy..tempting:)

@iTzSHAKiKi In later books she explains that in a lot of fairytales all of the characters are different elements of the psyche. If you can't see how women experience it, it may be that she is ferering to an internal struggle. Hopes this helps.

I can't believe how much I love this book... Still have about a fifth left to read... omg.
I'm wondering how you interpret some of the stories though! I feel confused by some of them where the story itself is analyzed amazingly but I can't always find the connection to how women actually experience it.. Do you know what I mean?

It is one of my top favorite books of all time. The writing style is a bit repetitious, however the message it brings and the stories the author tells are truly inspiring. I highly recommend to women of all ages. It's very easy to relate to, and it is empowering regardless of your background. Thanks for this review, Helen! It's spot on.
