I saw Leymah speak in London at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict and let me tell you, this woman is a hero. She talked about society's expectations about how women should look and the pressure of being beautiful on young girls. She said everything that a mother should tell her daughter and raise her to believe. Honestly, I was on my feet, clapping like a seal at the end.
-
Thank you Leymah =) I am grateful to hear your story and wish, with all my heart, that this talk starts to unlock the spirit of the ones who could make a difference in girls life
-
I clicked because I thought she's sweet brown
-
I'm starting to feel sea sick..
-
Why is that boys/men dont deserve support? just seems a little sexist
-
What an inspiring story, I love this woman's passion and humanity. It reminds me why I got into education all those years ago, let us keep creating spaces for our young people to grow courageously, powerfully and with love. There is so much reason to be optimistic about the future of Africa and the world. I wish peace, love and harmony to you all.
-
All women should be treated as people in society. Not slaves.
-
Okay so I have been sweating the applications to Graduate school (schools, majors, statements, transcripts), when worry started to hit me, I watched this and reminded me of the purpose of everything.
-
I wish for a better life everyday but I know it could be far worse.
-
women make up the majority of our college census. so why do girls need more encouragement then boys to excel in academia?
-

-
One of the most inspiring woman on the face of planet Earth. God bless her.
