Ok, my main problem with this isn't really the subject matter itself but the way she went about it. She talked a lot about the problem itself but solutions to the problem...... not so much. What good is talking about a problem if you don't present ways to fix it?

I'm seeing two main types of people in the comments. One is a self-riteous group of people who believe we all need to go vegan and suddenly transform into the ultimate agrarian society. The other is a self-riteous group of people that believe there is no cause for concern whatsoever and that just because someone gets on a stage, that they may or may not have ever even heard about before today, to talk about an issue it immediately disqualifies them from having any point whatsoever and that there is absolutely nothing wrong as these people have never "been there" and we should just ignore everything they say and continue on as if nothing were wrong. And both sides are wrong. Neither of those are the answer. Asking every single person on Earth to give up everything that sums up their livelihood is just not gonna happen people. But if we continue going on like nothing's wrong then it'll only get worse. As such, we need to try and find that middle ground that can best optimize the needs/wants of as many people as possible. What is this middle ground? I don't know and I'm a high schooler so it's not like I neccessarilly had the time.

This makes me cry. I love the ocean so much! I have always had a strong connection to nature and knowing that it is dying because of human selfishness hurts me so much.

Sylvia Earle tells us about the great importance of the oceans, seas and water.
We are living beings with more power on this earth, we have the duty and the right to save ourselves and the world, with thoughtful choices and awareness of things !!!

This is so worth the time to watch & listen. It's scary how far we have come in depleting the oceans. Everyone needs to make a stand to save them for us, our children , Our grandchildren.. for if we continue to strip the seas- our entire life as we know it on earth will be gone.-

I am curious how many people who watched this video have actually made that small personal change to protect our planet (and oceans) and stopped eating seafood (and meat, meat products in general)? We all are masters to talk, but still continue doing the same things. If we do the same, we will get the same results. The smaller change with the greatest impact starts in our own kitchen. I've changed my diet and will never eat fish, meat and meat products again, you?
